Upgrading from previous version of NTI INTEGRATOR
Before upgrading NTI INTEGRATOR Server and modules, a complete backup of the system should be performed. Backup the following:
- Main database(s):
- Before version 8, there is only one (1) database that needs to be backed up. If first install was made using the previous iConnect MSI package, the default database is most likely named “CDC”. If first install was made using NTI INTEGRATOR Server MSI package and the default naming wasn’t changed, the database name is “Integrator”.
- If an update is performed on a version 8 or later installation, there are three (3) main databases that needs to be backed up. If first install was made using the previous iConnect MSI package, the databases is most likely named “CDC”, “CDC_Transactions” and “CDC_Logs”. If first install was made using NTI INTEGRATOR Server MSI package and the default naming wasn’t changed, the databases is “Integrator”, “Integrator_Transactions” and “Integrator_Logs”.
- Server installation folder:
- Take a full backup of the installation folder. The default folder is “C:\NTI INTEGRATOR Server”.
As a next step, make sure to stop IIS (Internet Information Services) on the server where NTI INTEGRATOR Server is installed. This can easily be done from an admin command prompt by entering the command “iisreset /stop”. This procedure is only necessary when upgrading the NTI INTEGRATOR Server, not for upgrading Modules!
Next, start by upgrading the NTI INTEGRATOR Server MSI package if that is a part of the upgrade. After the package is successfully applied, continue upgrading the Module(s) that needs upgrading.
After all the MSI packages that are a part of the upgrade is applied, make sure that IIS is running by entering the command “iisreset /start” on an admin command prompt.
Next, open a new web browser page and browse to the login page for NTI INTEGRATOR Server.
- Take a full backup of the installation folder. The default folder is “C:\NTI INTEGRATOR Server”.
OBS! If upgrading to version 8 or later from a version before 8, a database migration process (a popup displaying that migrations are running will be shown) will start when the login page is loaded.
IMPORTANT! Do NOT refresh or close the page or try and login before the migration process is complete!
Migration from iConnect to NTI INTEGRATOR
To be able to migrate former iConnect users to NTI INTEGRATOR a complete uninstall of iConnect must be done.
Back up the database and remove the Server installations as well as the Module and Client installations. Uninstall Modules first and server last.
Cadcraft Licensing System (CLS) will be supported and have backward compatibility for old Cadcraft customers. CLS should only be used for old customers that won´t change license type when migrating to NTI INTEGRATOR.
Note: When NTI FOR VAULT is used together with NTI INTEGRATOR the license type must be the same for both products, either CLS or NNUL. A combination of license types is not possible.
