General
In Autodesk Vault Client, configuration must be made to access commands for NTI INTEGRATOR and to enable NTI INTGRATOR tabs in the Autodesk Vault Client Preview pane. All settings done on client side is per machine and user profile.
Main menu
The main menu for NTI INTEGRATOR Client can be found in the standard toolbar of the main window in Autodesk Vault Client. It is only accessible when a user is logged into the Vault client. There are two options in the menu, “Settings” and “Login”.
Note: The settings menu can be launched by starting the NTI INTEGRATOR Settings app from Windows start menu or desktop shortcut.
Settings menu
The Settings dialog is divided into three sections, License information, Connection and Transaction. From this dialog the user can login to the license system, manage connection to the NTI INTEGRATOR Server and notifications and set default behaviors for a Transaction created in NTI INTEGRATOR.
License information section
In the License information section, the user can find information and status for the license used by the program.
The user will have to logon to the system by clicking ”Login” in the License section. Then a popup dialog will be presented to login.
If proxy is required to connect to NNUL server, this can be configured by clicking on the ”Settings” button. Fill in the required information and save.
Connection section
In the Connection section the user must enter the server address and port used for NTI INTEGRATOR to set up the connection.
If the NTI INTEGRATOR Server is configured to use HTTPS, the checkbox “Use HTTPS” must be checked.
Note: Support for HTTPS is only available in version 6.0.1 and later.
It´s also possible to enable notifications from NTI INTEGRATOR for transactions completed or aborted and for preparations. The option to impersonate Jobserver user will send notifications to the user even if the transaction is created by the Jobserver user.
The notifications will be added to Windows AutoStart.
Transaction/View section
In the Transaction/View section, default behavior for a Transaction and Feedback Views is set.
The different options for a Transaction are:
- Default Preparation, will send the Transaction to the server for Pre-Processing and preparation of data for the ERP-system. The Transaction will not go all the way into the ERP-system. It will be paused in the server for viewing or modifying of data before the user manually commits it to the ERP-system.
- Default Transfer Articles, will set the default behavior in the Transaction to include update of articles (items/parts) in the ERP-system.
- Default Transfer Structure, will set the default behavior in the Transaction to include update of structure (Bill of Materials) in the ERP-system.
- Default Separate Articles, will set the default behavior in the Transaction to split all articles (items/parts) into separate Transactions before uploading them to the server.
- Only released items, will only include released items in the Transaction.
- Ask if View Transaction, will show a dialog box to the user with option to open a browser window to the server to view the uploaded Transaction(s).
For the View part, the two options are:
- Show Item Feedback Tab, if checked, a live real time view of the Item data in the ERP-system can be displayed in the Vault client when an Item is selected. The content and information displayed in the tab is an HTML-page that is designed in the NTI INTEGRATOR server. It is possible to combine data from different data sources to be displayed in this view.
- Show File Feedback Tab, same behavior as for Item Feedback but for Files in Vault instead.
Login menu option
To be able to use any features and functions in NTI INTEGRATOR the user must log on to the NTI INTEGRATOR server. To do that, click on ”Login” in the main menu.
A login dialog box will appear where the user is asked to enter username and password. To avoid having to logon to NTI INTEGRATOR every time Vault is restarted, make sure to check the ”Remember login” checkbox.
If the user doesn’t have a valid license, read-only login option is possible.
With Read-only login, the user is not able to create transactions
On the Job Processor make sure to log on with the automatically created user in NTI INTEGRATOR named Jobserver, password: jobserver or to create an additional user.
Item Context menu
To manually create a transaction and upload data to the server from Autodesk Vault open the Item Master and select Item(s) and then right-click.
In the context menu, choose NTI INTEGRATOR > Create Transaction.
A dialog will appear displaying the selected Item(s). The user can change the default modes for the transaction configured in the settings dialog. The users default NTI INTEGRATOR configuration is pre-selected in the Configurations drop-down list. Depending on the user´s rights, a different configuration can be selected.
To upload the transaction, the user must click the “Create Transaction” button.
Note: No Item attachments (Pdf, step, sat etc.) are included in the manual Transaction. To upload e.g. a Pdf file, this is done by implementing the Autodesk Vault Job Processor Add-In for NTI INTEGRATOR. This functionality is usually installed on the computer that acts as the Job Processor for Vault, not on a standard client computer.
