General
There are two main workflows, PreProcessing and Processing, in which it´s possible to connect actions for sub workflows e.g. Article Workflow, Structure Workflow and Document Workflow.
Each workflow is created with actions which can be added from the list to the right. Available actions depend on the type of workflow to be configured and the installed modules.
Actions can then be connected to each other based on true or false conditions. This is symbolized by green and red arrows.
PreProcessing
The PreProcessing workflow is used to extract and handle data from ERP-system or other third-party system used to validate data in the Processing workflow.
Set up the workflow to configure how data will be extracted and from what properties or fields.
Detach the PreProcessing workflow if only the Generic Module is used to export files.
Processing
It´s the main workflow for collecting and transfer data to ERP- or PLM-system or creating a xml-file.
This workflow connects the workflows for Article, Structure and Document.
To create and configure a workflow access the settings for the Workflow action by clicking the icon to the left of the action heading.
In the workflow dialog select “New” and enter a name for the workflow to be created.
When creating a new workflow there´s an option to copy an existing workflow.
For each action in the PreProcessing or Processing workflow select a sub workflow to be connected to this action in the drop-down list named “Workflow”.
Structure
workflow to create and update an article structure. With this example a file with structure information will be created for each article in the transaction. To create a single file for the selected level only, additional scripts are needed for Article and Structure Workflow.
Document
workflow to add a document to created article. Can also be used to export documents to a selected location.
Note: The example workflows in the picture are created in the Generic Module.
They are configured to create xml-files and export pdf-files.
When using a module for ERP connector the workflow most often consists of several actions.
